About The Department
The Department of Commerce is providing efficient and quality education in Commerce stream, since its inception in the Academic year 1999-2000. Presently Dr. M. Vijayalakshmi is heading the department with efficient and qualified staff members. The Department also conducts additional Diploma Certificate Courses in Tally for skill development. Highly experienced and dedicated faculty members are the strength of the department.
The faculty members constantly engage themselves in effective activities to develop students’ interests. As a result, the Department regularly conducts events and programmes, to empower the students, through its association (Non-violence Day, Community Development Program, International Yoga Day, Women empowerment Programme and Swatch Bharat Tree Plantation).
The department staff members mould the students to impart effective, supportive, accessible and affordable knowledge, skills and education in Commerce and Management to empower the students to face the challenges in the corporate world. They inculcate a sense of civic responsibility, social commitment and moral accountability among the students, through their studies. The Department mentors the students in the career oriented system to fit in business leadership and entrepreneurship.
The Department is proud to have a list of alumni, placed well in reputed concerns. The Department also has to its credit few rank holders. The students have brought many laurels by participating and winning in various inter-collegiate competitions.
