The Department of physics was established in the year 1976 with the introduction of the B.Sc program for the young budding physicists. The Department is equipped with highly qualified, experienced and dedicated teaching faculty who impart knowledge in new emerging areas of physics. The department has a credible record of good performance in University examinations. Striding towards the path of excellence our department strives to empower the young minds to meet the challenges of the future, achieve their goals and excel in their career. Our department has a well constituted Department Advisory Board to improve the quality and the performance.
The department rigorously follows Outcome Based Education in the teaching learning process. Academic activities in the department emphasizes the deep understanding of fundamental concepts of basic science and develop a creative ability to handle the challenges in their core courses. The teaching and learning process involves classroom lectures, laboratory demonstrations, laboratory performances, use of models and charts. In order to give a varied intellectual exposure to the students the department invites eminent professors from premier institutions of the nation under the banner of its Guest Lecture Series.
The Department has an excellent infrastructure and Laboratories and conducive environment to promote academic and research excellence in the department. Our department Students are also very active in Sports , Cultural and Extension Program. Students are encouraged to do Diploma Course through Swayam online portal.
With the constant encouragement from our staff, many of our students have participated in inter collegiate competitions conducted by other colleges academically and won the overall trophies and various prizes. Remedial program is conducted successfully for the academic betterment of the students. Special programs are conducted to improve their academic performance, as well as to motivate and encourage students to enter the portal of higher studies for their future.
