Department of English

Partaking in the legacy of half a century of excellent service of the college, the Department stands aloft in addressing the demands and issues of the times by redefining the existing parameters of knowledge dissemination. It tries to be always ahead of the times in pedagogy and skill development.

Ever since the inception of this college in 1966, the department has been striving hard to comprehend the broader significance ofeducation while designing our mode of instruction. We mentor our students to sharpen their intelligence and enable them to accomplish their aspirations. Simultaneously, we instil in them a positive value system that shapes their attitude, outlook and conduct, that provides a strong foundation for them to tackle the challenges of life.

In addition to the traditional chalk and talk method classes, special interactive classes by applying group discussion, question- answer, demonstration method are arranged to encourage the students to improve their learning. In- house practice sessions are also arranged to help the students  acquire knowledge, skill and self- confidence. Special classes are held before the exams for slow learners. The hidden creativity of the students gets manifested through various collegiate and inter collegiate competitions. Communicative and soft skill classes are also handled by the department through the use of PPTs. Films on different novels in the syllabus are shown to kindled interest among the students.

A strong team of faculty members wholeheartedly put their efforts to motivate our students and guide them to progress at every step. We nurture  intellectual brilliance and ethical excellence such that our young champions emerge out as leaders. Truly humanitarian in outlook and extremely professional in attitude, the faculty help the students shape a befitting future for themselves.
