The  Department of Corporate Secretaryship was started way back in 1983, to channelize the energy of adolescent students in order to rise up to eminence.

Initially it was B.A., Corporate Secretaryship, later on the curriculum of this course has been modified to suit the needs of the Corporate Sector on the lines of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and the students were awarded Bachelor of Corporate Secretaryship (BCS). Again the title of the Degree was changed as B.Com., Corporate Secretaryship (B.Com., C.S.)

The students of this course are also given an opportunity to undergo an Institutional Training for a period of one month in Reputed Public Companies, so as to get  exposed not only to understand the theory but also to practice as well. Some of the students were placed in the Companies in which they have undergone internship training.

At the time of inception, the sanctioned strength was only 30, now the sanctioned strength has been increased to 70.

The Department promptly encourages the students to participate in Sports, National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), other competitions both at the College Level and Inter-Collegiate Levels. The Department in coordination with Entrepreneurial Development Cell has been conducting training programmes regularly to enrich students’ personality. As a part of the vocational training programme, Students undergo different types of training, conducted by various organisations including NGO and Corporates.

Our Alumni are well placed in the society and  the department takes effort in maintaining contact for the purpose of placement and internship.

The Department is taking sincere efforts in accomplishing the objectives of the Institution by applying innovative ideas.
