The Department of Chemistry not only feel proud for having made   journey through 50 years in this campus but also take pride in educating, mentoring & guiding the first generation learners serving the community, to strive and develop the needed skill to take up job in various fields.

This approach has contributed to a holistic development of students mostly hailing from rural hinterland for the upliftment.  Since 1972, the department motif has centered upon the vision of the college.

The  Department of Chemistry headed by Dr.S. Usha Rani  M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., features programmes in undergraduate education such as B.Sc., Chemistry with Maths/Zoology/Physics as allied subjects.  The curriculum based education is designed by   the  University  of Madras with a sanctioned strength of 50 students in a Class.  Highly qualified staff share their valuable exposure and experience to  mentor students.  The laboratory is well furnished to cater to the needs of the undergraduate students.  Lab assistants co-ordinate towards the functioning of the laboratory.

The main objective of the Department is to encourage the students in developing their skill  to provide them a solid foundation in marching  ahead into glorious future. MOU has been signed with leading Industries to facilitate students’ participation in Institute Industry Collaboration. The Department strives in providing necessary training programme along with various renowned laboratories to inculcate the skill and to encourage students become employable, to pursue higher education and to emerge as an entrepreneur. All the faculty members strive to ensure in equipping   our students to fulfill their ambition.
