Shift – l College
In the Shift – I College (Aided), selection for all courses is based on students’ academic record, as per the eligibility criterion prescribed by the University of Madras and as per the guidelines prescribed for Community reservation by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
At the end of each academic year a special College Council is convened to constitute an Admission Committee for the Under-Graduate admission for the subsequent year as per the guidelines of Tamil Nadu State Government. The Committee consists of the Principal, two senior teachers and a member of the teaching staff belonging to the SC category. A similar committee is formed for the Post-Graduate admission also. Whenever necessary, other members of staff are co-opted for admission.
The selection for admission is intimated through post individually. The selection list is displayed on the College Notice board also.

Admissions to remaining 31 % are done on Open Merit as per the state Government guidelines.

3 % seats for Outstanding Sports persons
