Physics Laboratory

Physics laboratory has sound infrastructure with well illuminated, spacious laboratory   for doing general physics and electronics experiments. Separate dark room is available for conducting light experiments. The instruments are periodically updated as prescribed by University of Madras and UGC. The lab is equipped with magnetic stirrer funded by UGC. Laboratory is well furnished with the instruments to cater to the needs of student. It allows the students to practice principles taught in various fields of physics. Physics department has two lab assistants and one junior mechanic to assist the students during lab class.

Chemistry Laboratory

Chemistry laboratory provides the students with a suitable environment to develop a detailed understanding of all three branches of chemistry namely Organic, Inorganic and Physical. Lab has the facility to accommodate 50 students at a time. Separate store room is available to keep the chemicals and glass wares. The lab is highly ventilated and well equipped with high quality glassware. Students are provided with Analar grade Chemicals and special attention is given to individual student by providing the required number of apparatus. The lab is always updated with latest apparatus required for the current syllabus. To mention a few are Conductivity meter, centrifuges, hot air oven, hot plate, digital weighing machine etc. Chemistry department has two lab assistants to assist the students during lab class.

Zoology laboratory

Zoology laboratory is well equipped with all basic instruments for exploring the physical and morphological characteristics of animals. The lab is highly ventilated, ensures the hygiene of the work place. Lab has instruments, apparatus, slides and specimens required to run UG programme. It includes Dissecting microscopes, Compound microscopes, Binocular light microscopes, pH meters and digital weighing machine. Zoology lab has Demineralizer plant, Digital microphotography, Spectrophotometers, Refrigerated centrifuge, Incubator, Autoclave, USB eye-piece camera etc. Zoology department has two lab assistants to assist the students during lab class.

Botany Laboratory

Botany lab is well equipped with Dissection microscopes, Compound microscopes, Binocular  microscopes, wooden laminar chambers for plant tissue culture, permanent plant specimens, permanent slides, chemicals for Anatomy praticals,  Auxometer for measuring plant growth, Respiroscope for plant physiology practicals, Willmott’s bubble counter for photosynthesis practicals. Botany department has one lab assistant to assist the students during lab class.
